ABOUT THE PEOPLE & BUSINESS OPERATIONS MANAGER ROLE AT GENHEALTH
GenHealth.ai is transforming the way healthcare works with AI agents that run real administrative work inside live healthcare operations. We're a Series A company hiring across engineering, sales, marketing, and finance — and we need one person who can own that hiring machine while also being the generalist leadership leans on for everything else.
This is a generalist role with a specific first mandate. For the next 12–18 months, roughly half of your time is recruiting: you own it, top to bottom, and get leadership out of the day-to-day of sourcing, screening, and onboarding. The rest is the operational glue — conferences, vendor management, compliance evidence, financial ops support, and whatever else is currently on a founder's plate that shouldn't be.
Recruiting is the priority now because we're hiring hard. That won't be true forever. As the team scales and the hiring process stabilizes, we expect the mix to shift toward business operations and cross-functional projects — but that depends on where the company is and what you've shown you're good at. If you want a role with a fixed scope defined up front, this isn't it.
You'll report directly to the VP of Revenue & Operations and work daily with both co-founders.
What you'll own
Recruiting (~50% for the first 12–18 months)
- Full-cycle ownership of active searches across engineering, GTM, and finance
- Source candidates directly through LinkedIn, Gem, Indeed, and other channels
- Run first-round screens and write structured, decision-ready debriefs for hiring managers
- Operate our take-home assessment process, including AI-assisted grading workflows
- Schedule interview panels and keep every candidate moving — nothing drops
- Reference checks, offer letter drafts for leadership review, and background checks through Checkr
- Own the Northeastern co-op relationship: postings, program comms, and each cycle's hiring class
- Triage our automated resume-scoring pipeline (200+ applications per posting) into interview slates
You're inheriting a machine, not building one from scratch: AI-scored resume pipelines, structured assessments with automated graders, and an established university program. Your job is to run it, improve it, and make it faster.
People Operations
- New-hire onboarding in Rippling: I-9/E-Verify, device ordering, training compliance, access provisioning with our security team
- 30/60/90 plans and new-hire check-ins
- Employment logistics — OPT/visa paperwork, multi-state quirks — with outside counsel where needed
- Maintain employment records, offer documentation, and comp data with total discretion
Business Operations & Special Projects (~50%)
- Conference logistics: registrations, booth coordination, shipping deadlines, exhibitor passes, swag
- Vendor and tool administration: renewals, seat management, spend visibility
- SOC 2 evidence collection and compliance chores
- Support finance ops: invoicing coordination, expense workflows, contract administration
- Prepare recurring reporting and materials for leadership and board updates
- Take on ambiguous, unowned projects and drive them to done — the "someone needs to figure this out" work
What success looks like
First 90 days
- Every open role has an active, measurable pipeline, and leadership only joins final-stage interviews
- Candidates move from application to decision in days, not weeks
- Onboarding runs end to end without escalation: signed offer to fully provisioned, trained new hire
- The next conference happens without leadership touching logistics
First year
- Hiring is predictable enough that we can plan headcount against a real pipeline instead of hoping
- Recurring operational chores run on documented systems that survive you being out for a week
- Leadership routes new problems to you by default, because you've closed the last several
What we're looking for
- 3–6 years of experience in some combination of recruiting, startup operations, consulting, or business operations roles
- Real full-cycle recruiting experience, or clear evidence you can pick it up fast and run high-volume, high-touch processes without dropping candidates
- Strong writing: your debriefs, outreach, and internal updates should be clear enough to make decisions from
- Comfortable owning ambiguous work with no playbook and no one checking in daily
- Highly organized under volume — many candidates, many threads, many deadlines, none forgotten
- Uses AI tools daily; our screening and grading pipelines run on them and you'll operate and improve them
- Discretion with sensitive information: compensation, offers, employment records, board materials
- Genuinely enjoys execution. This is a hands-on role, not a strategy role with a team underneath it.
Nice to Have
- Recruiting for technical roles as well as GTM
- Familiarity with Rippling, Checkr, Gem, or similar tooling
- University recruiting or co-op program experience
- Hands-on interest in building automations — Claude Code, n8n, scripting, or similar
- Healthcare or B2B SaaS startup background
- Exposure to finance, legal, or compliance operations at a small company
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary Range: $80,000 – $110,000, based on experience
- Equity: Stock options
- Benefits:
- Health, dental, and vision insurance
- Unlimited vacation policy
- Remote-first work environment
- Direct, daily collaboration with the founders and leadership team
- Broad exposure across recruiting, people ops, finance, and compliance at a Series A company
