We are excited to announce our $16.5 million Series A for GenHealth.ai, which brings our total funding to $30M. We started GenHealth in 2023 with the goal to identify the best path for each patient’s future. But we quickly discovered a more immediate problem where patients were struggling to get the care they needed today. Administrative bottlenecks delayed treatment, while providers and suppliers spent valuable time chasing revenue they had already earned.
Getting care approved and paid for meant navigating a hundreds of clicks and actions through EHRs, payer portals, fax lines, and phone calls as these systems rarely talk to each other. We saw an opportunity to build AI that could connect those systems and carry the work through to completion. Healthcare is much too far behind to want the creativity offered by AI, it still needs the productivity gains that AI can bring. The more compelling breakthrough today is just getting the admin work done.
So we built the connections ourselves. Today GenHealth's AI agents run the medical back office end to end: intake, eligibility, prior auth, billing, denials, and custom workflows inside the systems a practice already uses. A practice brings us on the way it would hire a person. Staff show us how they work, the practice creates user accounts for our AI, and the agents learn those exact flows before going live. Customers are getting paid 30%+ more and their patients get care faster, which we haven't seen anywhere else in RCM. GenHealth is a practice’s first AI employee that’ll work alongside your current team just like another human, onboarding just like another human team member.
The US spends about $1T a year on healthcare administration. It’s clear that most of that work will be executed by AI within the next few years, and that the practices, suppliers, and plans that get there first will have a real advantage: faster care, cleaner claims, and staff who spend their day on patients instead of portals. We're not building another system of record. We're building the AI team-mates that do the work inside the systems that already exist, with humans in the loop for the parts that need judgment.
GenHealth using this round to accelerate the engineering and go-to-market teams, extending the AI agents into more workflows for provider groups and health plans, and keep improving the model underneath them.
