Ask chat about documents and run workflows from files
Teams can now ask chat to read supported billing documents, start published workflow runs from attached files in builder chat, and use several smaller chat and inbox improvements shipped this week.
Ask chat about billing documents
Chat can now read supported patient documents from Brightree and Niko when you ask about a document’s contents, then answer with page citations. You can keep asking follow-up questions about the same document in the same chat without reattaching it. This is read-only. If the document text is still being prepared, chat may ask you to try again shortly.
Keep teammate replies in one shared chat
Shared chats now keep teammate messages and agent replies on the same thread, including builder handoffs and reconnects. If someone tries to send while another turn is still finishing, that message is refused for now and the unsent text stays saved as a draft. New messages also show the viewer’s name and avatar once another teammate has joined the conversation.
Run published workflows from attached files
In builder chat, you can now start a published workflow run from a file you attached, or start a manual workflow without a file when that workflow supports it. Files attached in regular chat now carry into builder handoff, so you don’t need to upload them again. Builder can also rehearse the first rows of an uploaded file before offering to publish or run the full workflow.
Review PDF policy drafts before creating
For qualification review work, chat can now start a draft policy import from attached PDFs. You can review extracted units before creating anything, inspect printed and inferred HCPCS codes separately, and accept only the units you want. Each accepted unit still needs its own confirmation, which makes it easier to move forward selectively instead of creating every draft at once.
Smaller improvements
- Chat, builder chat, and email chat now support much longer messages, up to 64,000 characters.
- The chat sidebar is easier to scan, with slower scrolling for long titles and more consistent action controls in the sidebar and header.
- A Hold Reason column can appear in Inbox for supported intake workflows, so teams can see why a packet is held without opening it. Availability depends on your organization and workflow setup.
- New Niko read tools are available for stock-on-hand lookup and patient email lookup.
